Musician & Community Worker

Hekima is a Hull-based musician and the Founder/Director of Create & Express Ltd, a non-profit organisation using arts and culture to address social issues and celebrate diversity. With a passion for music as a tool for change, he has led projects that tackle health inequality, mental health stigma, and community cohesion.

He currently leads the Damu – Thicker Than Water project, funded by NHS Blood & Transplant, which uses music, storytelling, and workshops to raise awareness about sickle cell disease and encourage blood donation in African and Caribbean communities.
