Bora Shabaa Refugee Community Organisation is a registered charity based in Hull, dedicated to supporting refugees and asylum seekers as they build new lives in the UK. Located at the Oasis Hub on Newland Avenue, Bora Shabaa offers a welcoming space where individuals and families can access vital services, learn new skills, and connect with the community.
Drop-in Advice & Support Sessions
Every Wednesday from 10am to 2pm, these sessions provide guidance on employment, finances, food access, and more—no appointment needed.
Free ESOL Classes
Taught by qualified tutors, these English classes help adults improve language skills for work and social life. Held Thursdays (1–3pm) and Fridays (10am–2pm).
Sewing Classes
Open to all skill levels, these friendly sessions run Tuesdays and Thursdays, offering practical skills and social connection—with refreshments included.
Bora Shabaa plays a crucial role in helping newcomers feel at home in Hull. By addressing challenges early and offering inclusive, community-driven support, they empower individuals to thrive and contribute meaningfully to local life.
